McCourts Lake

McCourt's Lake is approx.13 acres in size and nestles in the hills just South of Poyntzpass. The lake is regularly stoked with both Rainbow and Brown trout. The club requires all Brown Trout to be returned to the water unharmed Fishing is generally good all season long. Even if you are not catching it remains a tranquil setting for a day out by the water.

At the request of Farmers, dogs are not permitted on McCourt's.

All waders and nets must be dipped prior to fishing, a disinfecting site is in place to assist.

The Lake is designated Fly-fishing only and is the venue for the various club competitions. The lake is regularly patrolled by bailiff's from the club and the Loughs Agency.

If challenged you are requested to assist the bailiff by cooperating with their questions. Day tickets are available from the Spar shop in Poyntzpass and from J C Smyth sports, Vaughan Chambers and Ronnie McCamley in Newry.
